Keywords:arc deposition

In the 3GeV rapid cycling synchrotron(RCS) of the Japan proton accelerator complex, hydrogen negative ion beam is injected and converted into protons by a charge exchange foil to form a circulating proton beam. In this study, we are investigating boron doped carbon foil reported to exhibit 250 times lifetime of commercially available foil.We compare the XRD patterns of the boron containing carbon rod with the sample after deposition and investigate the containing state of boron on the carbon foil for the purpose of researching the effect of the addition of boron on the prolongation of lifetime of charge exchange foil.
