Recently, Bi-substituted rare-earth iron garnets have attracted great attention for magneto-optical (MO) imaging due to their huge MO effects. In this paper, we report a study on the preparation conditions for Nd2BiFe4Ga1O12 thin films by the metal-organic decomposition method, where pre-annealing temperatures were varied from 350 to 450 ºC. Those samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction measurement and MO measurement.
