A spin Seebeck element is known as a power generating device which has attracted attention in recent years. In this study, electromotive force was measured when tungsten with less research report was used as a metal thin film, and compared with the case of using conventional platinum. As a result of the experiment, the spin seebeck performance index was 0.091 [μV / K] for platinum and 0.062 [μV / K] for tungsten. From this result, it is shown that there is a possibility of making a power generating element with tungsten as a metal thin film in consideration of cost.
