Printing patterns of the photoreceptor protein bacteriorhodopsin (bR) can be obtained by using an Inkjet printer. This method can control the thickness of bR films by layering the patterns. We fabricated Gabor filtering photosensors using the inkjet printing patterns of bR. The layer patterns of cosine-type and sine-type Gabor functions were printed on ITO glasses with the multi-valued model. Photocurrent signals of cosine-type and sine-type Gabor functions were obtained by using the bipolar photocell strucure.
