△ [9p-W834-12] Electric polarization of biomedical tissues induced by ultrasound waves
Keywords:ultrasound wave, biomedical tissue, piezoelectricity
Various biomedical tissues such as bone and achilles tendon are known to have piezoelectricity. However, the measurement target was usually limited to dry tissues. Piezoelectric evaluation and imaging of wet biomedical tissues will be more important for medical applications. The purpose of this work is to provide a method for evaluating the piezoelectricity of biomedical tissues in fully wet condition by detecting charges induced by ultrasound waves. In the talk, we report the detail measurement techniques and the piezoelectric coefficients estimated for various biomedical tissues.
