Keywords:circularly polarized luminescence, polarimetry

For measuring circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) of opaque solid sample, measurement with oblique-angle backward scattering is desirable. Because such geometry produces strong linear polarization components, the measurement must be insensitive against linear components.
We constructed measurement apparatus which averages out linear components with switchable composite half wave-plate. The composite wave-plate is made with a pair of quarter wave-plates and the
switching is realized by aligning their fast axis to parallel or perpendicular orientation.
CPL measurments of known CPL sample, Europium tris[3-(heptafluoropropyl-hydroxymethylene)-(-/+)camphorate] methanol solutions produced results which agreed well with prior researches.
