Bismuth and antimony-based materials are promising candidates as the counterpart to lead halide perovskite. However, the large number of their possible compositions and crystal structures (perovskite, layered structure, etc.) have disturbed the rational material selection and device design. Thus, an evaluation strategy based on the intrinsic optoelectronics is required. Here, we present a comprehensive survey of the energy levels (conduction and valence band level) and optoelectronics (photoconductivity and charge transfer to charge transport material) of the Bi- and Sb-based materials. From the statistical analysis based on time-resolved microwave conductivity (TRMC), we notably found an efficient charge transfer in Sb-based photo-absorbers and hole transport materials which includes thiophene unit. Our study establishes a key strategy for characterizing lead free photo-absorber and designing device structure.
