We have been working on improving the efficiency of LEDs using surface plasmon (SP) resonance, and also succeeded in improving the efficiency of deep-ultraviolet emission of AlGaN/AlN quantum wells using Al thin films. In this study, we have evaluated the optical characteristics by using a Nano-hemisphere on Mirror (NHoM) structure to control the SP resonance in a wide deep ultraviolet wavelength range. As a result, we succeeded in expressing the SP resonance in a wide wavelength range including the deep ultraviolet (UVC) region and controlling the resonance wavelength and intensity by the strong coupling resonance of the vibration mode between the particles and the substrate.
