[8a-Z13-9] Temperature dependence of self-propelled characteristics of ion gel on water surfaces
Keywords:Self-propelled ion gel, soft matter, non equilibrium
We recently found and reported that an ion gel, composed of 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide and poly(vinylidene fluoride-co-hexafluoropropylene), shows a self-propelled motion on H2O surface. In this study, we induce a rotation motion of the ion gel piece at H2O surface, and observe the rotational speeds at varied H2O temperatures. The rotational speed is ca. 6 rps (revolutions per second) at room temperature and less than 1 at 320 K, and it recovers ca. 3 at 350K. We discuss the origin of the interesting phenomenon.
