[9a-Z12-7] Studies on Sweat-Rate Sensors Utilizing Functional Textiles with Water Absorbing/Quick Dispersing Property

Keywords:sweat-rate sensors, wearable devices, healthcare devices

We studied thin, flexible sensors based on gas-permeable thin-film capacitors combined with functional textiles having water absorbing/quick dispersing property, with the aim of developing wearable sweat-rate monitoring devices. The prototypical sensor detected change in the capacitance originating from the quick dispersing property of the functional textile when water at a rate of ~nL/min was supplied on the absorption surface.
