We fabricated the GaAs solar cells with a semiconductor multilayer film called a distributed Bragg reflectors (DBR) on the back side, which could cause the photon recycling effect by reflecting the laser light. The solar cells were irradiated with laser light having wavelengths of 830 and 850 nm, and then the characteristics of the solar cell with and without the DBR structures were evaluated. The solar cells with DBR structure exhibited the higher efficiency than those without DBR because some heat generation of the solar cells with DBR were suppressed.
