We propose a mid-infrared optical phase shifter based on Ge2Sb2Te5 (GST), which is one of the most common phase change materials, taking advantage of the fact that the optical absorption of GST in the mid-infrared region is smaller than that in the near-infrared region. We experimentally demonstrate the reduction of the optical absorption of GST in the mid-infrared region.
