Ba2SiO4:Eu2+ nanophosphor has been succeeded to synthesize via the WASSR method. It was determined that the best combination of starting materials was Ba(OH)2·8H2O and amorphous SiO2 by measuring acid strength of various Ba and Si sources with using Hammett indicators and the chemical reaction proceeds only in the combination. In the best our knowledges, Ba2SiO4 phase was synthesized at lowest temperature of 220°C via Ba2[SiO2(OH)2]2 phase, which is similar to crystal structure of Ba2SiO4. The particle size of the sample synthesized by the WASSR method was found to be 15-20 nm by HR-TEM observation.
