Keywords:Poly(tetrafluoroethylene), Orientation, Epitaxy

We have demonstrated by an MD simulation that the oriented growth of linear dye molecules deposited on aligned poly(tetrafluoroethylene) surface is due to the atomic groove epitaxy where the molecules are trapped along the grooves between the adjacent PTFE chains on the surface. In particular its determining evidence is that the dependence of their orientation on slight modification of the molecules can be explained well by the epitaxy through the model. We will discuss the effect of the length of n-alkyl end groups on the oriented growth herein.
