Keywords:Lithium ion battery, Si anode, Graphite sheets

We have fabricated Si nanopowder from Si swarf which is an industrial waste generated during slicing Si ingots to produce Si wafers. Si-graphite sheet composites were prepared by mixing Si nanopowder and graphite sheets to use as an anode active material in lithium ion batteries. The highest delithiation capacity of 801 mAh/g at 100th cycle was achieved with the large and ulrathin graphite sheets with the average size of 13 µm and the maximum thickness of 13 nm.
