[13p-A407-2] Development of evaluation method of intercellular adhesion utilizing femtosecond laser impulse

Keywords:Single cell measurement, Cell mechanical properties, Animal and plant cells

When an intense femtsoecod laser is focused on a cell culture medium under microscope, shockwave and stresswaves are generated at the laser focal point and act to cells near the focal point as an impulsive force. The author and co-workers have developed evaluation method of intercellular adhesin strength utilizing the impulsive force [1]. In this presentation, I introduce the evaluation method and point out potentiality of this method for understanding the intercellular adhesion strength at a higher level. [1] Y.
