We have developed a high-pressure microscope to monitor biological samples in real time. It was optimized both for the best image formation and for the stability to hydrostatic pressure up to 150 MPa. We successfully demonstrate that high hydrostatic pressure induces vigorous flagellar beating in Chlamydomonasparalyzed-flagellamutants.
