[14a-A403-2] Electro-luminescence Images of Photovoltaic Modules under natural Daylight

Keywords:photovoltaic module, observation of injection electroluminescence

The observation of injection electroluminescence ( EL ), one of methods for the study of a silicon-based photovoltaic cell, is generally made in a darkroom so that it can detect weak luminescence of silicon induced by recombination of injected minority carriers. The purpose of this experiment is to observe the EL images of photovoltaic modules under natural daylight outside ( in fair or cloudy weather ). Here we report that the defects visualized by the EL images in a darkroom are also inspected under natural daylight outside.
