The optical properties of localized surface plasmon resonances that occur on metallic nanostructures have been the subject of intense study for the past few decades. In particular, the optical activity of the optical near-field has gained substantial interest. Recently, it was reported that a local circular dichroisum in the electric near field could be produced by the interaction of circularly polarized (CP) light even with an achiral gold nanostructure . In this study, we observed photoemission electron images of the achiral rectangular structure under the irradiation of left and right CP (LCP and RCP) light using photoemission electron microscopy.
