[14a-D221-8] Communication Distance Evaluation and Development of Seawater Wireless Communication utilizing Solution Gate FET as a Receiver

We have reported that seawater wireless communications utilizing Diamond Solution Gate FETs (SGFETs) which operates in electrolyte solution and Si ISFETs. In this work, we used tube filled with pure water, 3.5% NaCl solution, and 25% NaCl solution to measure effects of solution concentration on communication distance. It was confirmed that signal was not observed over 1 m in pure water and attenuation of the signal by distance was suppressed in high concentration solutions.
