Energy harvesting from ambient vibrations, which has random, time-varying or low-frequency properties, by piezoelectric vibration energy harvester (pVEH) has attracted much attention recently.
In our previous work, the output power of conventional pVEHs with one-degree-of-freedom system (1DOF) was characterized by impulse vibrations that simplified the ambient vibration. It was found that the impulse vibration with a short duration time is suitable to obtain high energy conversion efficiency. In this study, the electromechanical response of pVEHs with 2DOF system, which is useful to improve the output power for sinusoidal vibration was investigated using the impulse vibrations.
