CdTe radiation detectors can be classified into two types: Ohmic and Schottky.A Schottky-type CdTe detector has been confirmed to be unstable in performance due to long-time continuous operation called “polarization”.On the other hand, in the Ohmic-type, unstable in performance is not considered to be occurred due to polarization, but discussion is necessary. In this study, in order to elucidate the mechanism of polarization, carriers were generated by laser pulse instead of gamma-ray inside an Ohmic-type CdTe detector, and the position dependence of carrier transport properties was evaluated.
