We have investigated the effect of intensity uniformity of lasers irradiated on Ⅲ-Ⅴ solar cells for high-power laser wireless power transmission. In this study, we used solar cells with different surface electrode coverage (commonly known as shadowing loss=SL) to examine the dependence of the laser irradiation intensity distribution on their conversion efficiencies. As a result, the conversion efficiency in the sample with the smallest SL, under high power irradiation was improved by an uniform irradiation instead of an uniform one.It is found that the optimal design of the electrode area will change with the intensity uniformity of the laser.
