We have been working on the theory and demonstration of a new solar cell (PV) based on the thermoelectric effect. As a part of this work, we reported the theory that the voltage of a normal PV cell does not drop when the temperature of the absorbing part rises, if the temperature near the electrodes is constant, due to the thermoelectric effect. The purpose of this study was to demonstrate this theory. We designed a PV cell for the demonstration and observed the suppression of voltage drop in the measurement with the electrodes at a constant temperature. However, numerical calculations showed that effects other than the thermoelectric effect were dominant in this system. Further innovations are needed for demonstration.
