△ [11p-S401-5] High-speed measurements of acoustically stimulated electromagnetic response using a pulse-compression method
Keywords:Electromagnetic response, Biological tissue, Pulse-compression method
Conventional ultrasound techniques are restricted to diagnosing elastic properties of the targets, viz., electromagnetic properties are not probed. We have developed a distinguishing method based on the generation and detection of the acoustically stimulated electromagnetic (ASEM) response through electro- or magnetomechanical coupling of materials and the method will be useful for industrial inspection and medical diagnosis. However, the measurement time over 1 second per one point is required to obtain a sufficient signal-to-noise ratio. Here, we introduced the pulse-compression method to the ASEM method. The measurement time was significantly improved by a factor of 103.
