(Bi,Pb)2Sr2Ca2Cu3Oy[Bi2223] superconducting tapes have already been used in various applications because of practical high critical current properties. It is known that the Jc of Bi2223 is lower than that of RE123 materials at high temperature and in magnetic field due to its large electromagnetic anisotropy. However, the plan has been shown that increasing substitution of Pb for Bi sites is effective for improving critical current properties. In this study, manufacturing of Bi2223 magnetically aligned bulks that increasing actual substitution level of Pb in Bi2223 crystals with different chemical compositions and optimization of heat treatment conditions were carried out.
