Unidirectional rectification of an electromagnetic energy is very important technology to enhance energy usage efficiency. Magnetochiral (MCh) effects have attracted considerable attention because of the potential to realize such technology. The magnetochiral effects induce directional birefringence for unpolarized electromagnetic waves in a material with magnetism and chirality. However, it was very difficult to achieve giant MCh effects in natural materials.
In this presentation, we show that the MCh effects by dielectric-magnetic hybrid metamolecules is two orders of magnitude greater than those of previous studies.
