Surface-normal optical modulators have attracted much attention because of their potential applications in various fields such as communication and sensing. In this study, we proposed a new structure of surface-normal plasmonic optical modulators using lithium niobate substrate, which is considered as a candidate for a new integrated photonics platform. The performance of the proposed structure has been verified by calculations and is reported.
