[13a-N105-7] Feasibility Confirmation of High-Security Wireless System using Terahertz Waves

Since wireless signal travels in free space, they have a higher risk of being intercepted by a third party than wired signals. Therefore, improving security at the physical layer of wireless communication is an important issue. We have devised a new high-security wireless system using terahertz waves, taking advantage of the features of optical technology utilizing a uni-traveling carrier photodiode (UTC-PD). This time, we demonstrated a 250-Mbit/s transmission experiment using a 300-GHz band carrier.
