In this laboratory, we have been performing optical measurements from the surface of photonic crystals by cleaving them. However, there was a problem that the outgoing light intensity fluctuated due to the lack of reproducibility of the cleavage position with respect to the vacancy. The mesa-type waveguide is expected to solve this problem. In this study, we fabricated a two-dimensional photonic crystal laser with a mesa-type waveguide and investigated its optical properties by optical pumping.
