△ [13p-N302-6] Control of three-dimensional aligned structures in liquid-crystalline polymer films by scanning wave photopolymerization
Keywords:liquid crystal, molecular alignment, polymer film
Control of molecular alignment of liquid crystals is key to the development of highly functionalized photonic, electronic, and mechanical materials and devices. Of various alignment techniques, a photoalignment method has drawn much attention. However, the fine control of microscopic three-dimensional molecular alignment remains a challenge in this method. To overcome the issue, we have proposed a novel method based on a concept of molecular diffusion termed scanning wave photopolymerization. In this study, we fabricated the liquid-crystalline polymer films with three-dimensionally aligned molecules with layer structures by finely tuning polymerization conditions.
