In needle design, it is important to optimize the shape and dimensions of the tip, which is thin and sharp, and the root, which is prone to buckling due to stress concentration. In this study, we investigated the optimal microneedle shape for skin implantation using finite element method simulation, and clarified the effects of changing the needle diameter on the stress distribution and plastic strain distribution at the root.
