In this study, Sr-Si alloys Sr_1-xSix were synthesized by Ar arc-melting. The samples were characterized using ICP-optical emission spectroscopy, electron-probe microanalysis and powder X-ray diffractometry. These results showed that at atmospheric pressure, SrSi₂ does not have the high temperature phase with a tetragonal structure and SrSi_2-x has the tetragonal phase.
