[16p-Z06-6] Development of an ultrafast quantum simulator with attosecond precision and its applications to quantum computing

We have employed a broadband ultrafast laser to excite a high-density ensemble of cold atoms to their Rydberg states for the first time, and succeeded in observing and controlling its strongly correlated ultrafast many-body electron dynamics with attosecond precision. This lecture describes the development of this brand-new “ultrafast quantum simulator”, its present status, outlook, and applications to quantum computing.
