Keywords:3D Display, Rotating Spiral Screen

We have proposed a volumetric 3D display in which cross-sectional images are projected on a rotating spiral screen. One of challenges of this method is an existence of a blind area generated depending on viewpoints. In this research, the blind area was measured for each cross-sectional image that forms a 3D image. The results of the measured values showed the same tendency as the results estimated using the simulation by the ray tracing method in our former study. Finally, we have reduced blind area and improved the sharpness of 3D images, by using a newly designed slim screen and by resolving other various issues which prevent high resolution.
