[17p-Z32-5] Composition Control of Fe-Ga single crystals by vertical Bridgman method

Fe-Ga magnetostrictive alloys attracts attention as vibration power generation material. We have developed a Fe-Ga single crystal growth process using a vertical Bridgman (VB) method, and succeeded in the vertical Bridgman growth of both cylindrical single crystals with 2 inch diameter and square prismatic single crystals with 1.7 inch base side. We investigated the weight loss of raw materials due to evaporation during Fe-Ga crystal growth, and attempted to stabilize the crystal composition.
