[18a-Z21-4] Fabrication of 3.3 μm Periodically-Poled Structures in MgO:SLT
Keywords:ferroelectrics, wavelength conversion, LiTaO3
Recently, the demand for 1 W-class ultraviolet lasers has been increasing for applications such as laser direct drawing systems, and the third harmonic wave of YAG lasers (at a wavelength of 350 nm) is a promising candidate. MgO:SLT is an attractive material for the above applications due to its short absorption edge, high optical damage threshold, and little green-light-induced infrared absorption. To realize high-power ultraviolet light generation devices consisting of second harmonic generation (SHG) and sum-frequency generation (SFG), we reported a 7.2 μm MgO:SLT quasi-phase-matched SHG device. The period of the periodically-poled (PP) structures of the SFG device is 2.0 μm, but in this study, we fabricated 3.3 μm PP structures as a first step to shorten the period.
