[18p-P05-3] Development of a compact reader for wearable RPL dosimeter device
Keywords:Radio-photoluminescence, compact reader, wearable dosimeter device
Growing attention has been paid to radiation protection and dosimetry for cataracts, so the equivalent dose limit of occupational exposures is scheduled to be tightened. Therefore there are potential seeds for such partial body radiation exposures to develop dedicated radiation measurement devices. Currently, we are developing a proto-type wearable device utilizing a radio-photoluminescence (RPL) dosimeter. In this study, we have developed a compact dose reader that can be used with RPL dosimeter lens devices. The system consists of a small ultraviolet LED, a photomultiplier-based photon-counting unit, and an FPGA. We have evaluated the developed compact reader system by utilizing RPL dosimeter devices with different radiation exposure times.
