△ [18p-Z32-2] Changes in the Intensity Distribution of the Laser Pulse due to Non-linear Optical Interaction with Air and its Effects on the Laser Ablation
Keywords:femtosecond laser ablation, ultrashort pulse laser, non-linear optical interaction
In order to investigate the changes in the intensity distribution of the laser pulse due to non-linear optical interaction with ambient air and its effect on the laser ablation, we simulated the propagation of the gaussian beam near the focusing point by numerically solving the non-linear simultaneous propagation equations incorporating the third-order nonlinear effect and the ionization of air. As a result, we found that the peculiar behavior of the pulse energy dependence of the ablated depth was suppressed as a result of the nonlinear optical interaction with ambient air.
