[19a-Z32-4] Spectral analysis of somatosensory EEG activity for artificial limb robot control BMI application
Keywords:Event related potential
As a novel method of brain-machine interface (BMI) using electroencephalography (EEG), we propose a principle that utilizes the sensory EEG activity in which the waveform changes due to conscious attention to body parts. As a result of frequency analysis of EEG recorded from subjects, the signal component of ca. 40 Hz (Gamma band) was enhanced when there was conscious attention. It was suggested that it could be used as an index to decode the conscious body part for BMI system.
