ZnO nanoparticles have attracted much attention as a material for organic solar cells and other applications. In this study, two types of chemically synthesized ZnO nanoparticles were deposited by spin coating and their electronic states were compared by UPS and low-energy inverse photoemission spectroscopy (LEIPS). In particular, a large difference was observed in the conduction band, which may reflect the quantum size effect, different surface states and oxygen deficiency. In our presentation, we are also going to discuss the change of the electronic structure by annealing process with XPS and NEXAFS results.
