Ultraweak biochemical luminescence derived mainly from reactive oxygen species generated by cellular respiration is also called biophoton and can be observed in any living organism. It is known that the amount of cell respiration and reactive oxygen species varies due to various environmental stresses. Therefore, it is expected that the stress state can be detected at an early stage by changing the amount of light emitted. In this study, we focused on low temperature stress and examined the detectability by biophotons.
