To achieve bacterial test for bloodstream infection within one hour, we are developing gene-based testing system using microfluidic device. In our system, after gene amplification, gene can be detected in microfluidic channel filled with detection beads. To suppress air bubbles in the channel, which could inhibit gene detection, we have invented new system for applying pressure to the solution with a simple device design. We examined multiplex gene detection using our system, and confirmed that targeted bacterial gene could be detected in 5 minutes.
