△ [20p-A106-7] Dependence of flow rate using peristaltic pumps on viscosity of carboxymethyl-cellulose solution treated with ambient-air glow discharge
Keywords:plasma, biorefinery
We have proposed pretreatment methods using atmospheric-pressure plasmas for the next-generation bioethanol production process using inedible biomass such as waste woods, which has less environmental impact. In this study, we have evaluated the potential of the plasma treatment method using ambient-glow discharge with peristaltic pumps using a suspension of carboxyl methylcellulose. As a result, it was found that the viscosity of suspension was efficiently reduced at a flow rates less than 15 ml/min, which leads to the improvement of production rates of bioethanol.
