Relations between complex dynamics and performances of a chaotic neural network reservoir, which effectively introduces high-dimensional complex chaotic dynamics by local neuronal chaotic dynamics without violating the echo state property, are discussed through some information processing examples. In addition, a three-dimensional integrated circuit system implementation technique for the chaotic neural network reservoir is shown. Finally, as an application example, an engineering realization scheme of a “dynamical reference-self” based on the chaotic neural network reservoir is illustrated.
