A triboelectric generation has attracted significant attention for energy harvest technology because of its simple device structure, low cost, high power output, and flexibility. Hence, triboelectric generation has expected as a power source for a self-powered device. Many works, such as materials engineering and increasing generation surface area, have enhanced triboelectric output power. However, increasing the output power density using these strategies has a limitation. To overcome the limit, we propose a new method to harvest time-dependent electromagnetic energy leaked from triboelectric generators. In a triboelectric generation, a time-dependent electromagnetic field is generated between moving electrodes with surface charges induced. The spreading electromagnetic field is one of the reasons for energy loss. To harvest the electromagnetic field, this study adopted a circular patch antenna. We will demonstrate how to boost the output power of triboelectric generators using the antenna. The details of our experiments will be presented at a conference.
