Dinitrogen pentoxide (N2O5) needs to be carefully handled to avoid the reaction with water and thermal decomposition and its storage also requires much care. Thus, centralized manufacturing is not suitable for N2O5 and on-site generation method can be more promising. Recently, we successfully generated N2O5 gas from air with high selectivity using two plasma reactors whose gas temperature is independently controlled. This technology can overcome the barriers for the use of N2O5 and preliminary results for N2O5 applications will be shown.
