We are studying a mid-infrared superconducting hot electron bolometer (MIR-HEB) that uses an antenna as the photo-detector coupling method with the aim of improving the response properties and functions of the photodetector in the mid-infrared light region. This time, we prepared MIR-HEB with shunt resistance added in parallel and evaluated its characteristics as a mid-infrared photon detector. The voltage pulse rate from MIR-HEB increased with increasing bias current. However, it tended to saturate near the critical current. This voltage pulse rate was almost proportional to the incident power. It is considered that the MIR-HEB prepared showed responsees corresponding to the number of photons in mid-infrared light of 4.57 μm wavelength.
