This symposium is planned as an opportunity to discuss the recent development and prospect of "topological phononics/mechanics" which applies the framework of topology to the control of elastic waves, acoustic waves, mechanical vibrations, etc. This paper will introduce the activities of the "Phonon Engineering Workshop", the planning organization, as well as the research outlines of 6 invited lecturers who have been leading related fields such as photonics and spintronics.
