[21p-A307-2] Science of Bulk-edge correspondence: Expectation for classical mechanics

Yasuhiro Hatsugai1 (1.Dept. Phys., Univ. Tsukuba)

Keywords:bulk-edge correspondence, topological phases, Edge states

Bulk-edge correspondence established in quantum Hall effects is a fundamental/working principle for the topological phases. Today, it has been applied to various classical systems such as photonic crystals. Equatorial waves near the equator of the earth are also governed by it. Supplemented by symmetry restrictions, phenomena in a wider range respect the principle. In the talk, “Science of Bulk-Edge Correspondence”, by which we are trying to understand localized modes in the world from bulk (before making boundaries/defects), is explained with expectation for various mechanical phenomena.
